Welcome to Bédoin, on a land that stretches all the way to Mont Ventoux!
The mountain at the far end of the plain of Comtat Venaissin, the so-called “Giant of Provence”, rises to 1,911 metres and has a rough east-west length of 25 kilometres and a north-south width of 15 kilometres. It is the highest peak of the Vaucluse Mountains. It is also extremely popular. In the summer, it attracts walkers, hikers and cyclists, who are eager to add it to their list of accomplishments. In winter, its snow-covered slopes are great for skiing or sledging! You will soon discover all its endearing qualities.
Bédoin, a charming Provençal village in Vaucluse, is located in the foothills of Mont Ventoux, along with Crillon-le-Brave and Flassan. Places of interest in Bédoin are Saint-Antonin Hill, the Gallo-Roman Villa of Les Bruns and the Chapel La Madeleine. The idyllic setting and beautiful landscapes are ideal for many activities, such as hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, among others.
Bédoin is close to Carpentras, the capital of Comtat Venaissin, lying south of Mont Ventoux. Avignon is not far either: with its Palais des Papes, famous Saint-Bénezet bridge and exceptional Theatre Festival renowned the world over, it is a truly artistic and historic city.
